Our services

To promote positive mental health locally we provide the following services:

THE MIND EMPLOYMENT PROJECT
This project began in 2011 to promote best practice for mental health and employment in Guernsey. Our focus this year is to highlight the importance of adopting mental health policies in the workplace and to provide support to employers to enable them to make these policies work in practice. We do this by facilitating training for Mental Health in the Workplace and holding seminars to highlight particular issues and encourage the sharing of strategies and ideas.

THE STRATEGIC ADVOCACY PROJECT
The Strategic Advocacy Project works to promote the interests, rights and choices of people experiencing mental health issues to the States of Guernsey. We have developed working relationships with senior decision-makers in local voluntary and States organisations to ensure that Mind, and the needs of people with mental health issues, is at the forefront of planning, developing and implementing mental health service modernisation in Guernsey.

CAMPAIGNING AND AWARENESS RAISING
We campaign to ensure that information about mental health is accessible to every member of the Guernsey public who might have need of it, either for themselves, or for a friend, colleague or family member. We also campaign to raise awareness of the reality of what it means to experience a mental health issue, and to support the Guernsey community to work together to overcome stigma and prevent discrimination.

ADVICE AND SIGNPOSTING
We provide advice and information, by telephone and on our website, about local voluntary and States organisations available to support you.

THE LION’S MIND CENTRE
The Centre provides a safe and comfortable environment for self-help groups, voluntary organisations and community-based States run services to meet. Contact us if you are a member of a mental health related group and you need a place to meet.
