WorkWell Pathways is a new proactive support service for organisations from Guernsey Mind, designed to help people tackle common workplace challenges.
By supporting people when difficulties first emerge, we can help them build resilience and develop skills that benefit them throughout their working lives. There are thirteen different Pathways designed to help you face challenges you might be experiencing in the workplace. Each Pathway offers a practical workbook full of strategies, tools, and techniques.
Whether it’s managing stress, handling conflict and bullying, setting boundaries, or building resilience, there’s a Pathway to guide you through it.

How does it work?
WorkWell meetings are one-on-one sessions with a Guernsey Mind practitioner. The first session lasts about an hour, with two follow-up sessions of 25 minutes each.
The sessions will be led by one of Guernsey Mind’s WorkWell practitioners. These will be booked in beforehand and can be held at your workplace or at the Guernsey Mind Centre (we are located opposite the Fire Station).
Sessions are priced individually, but we offer discounts for multiple bookings. We’ll talk through the options and find what works best for you and your business.

I’m a bit worried about sharing information. Is this secure?
WorkWell meetings are confidential and any personal data is stored in line with our privacy policy. Your journey will be tailored according to your specific needs.
We will only make other people aware of anything disclosed if we are concerned about your safety.
How much does it cost?
There is a charge for accessing the WorkWell Pathways. This is paid by your employer. There is a charge for each individual accessing WorkWell, which covers the time of the Guernsey Mind practitioner plus the curation and production of all supporting materials.
These can be bought individually or as part of a package. We will meet with each Workplace to work out the best options and how employees will access WorkWell.
What if the WorkWell Pathway is not for me?
If the WorkWell pathways are not suitable for you, Guernsey Mind can help you find other support. This might be accessing Guernsey Mind’s Supported Self Help programme, signposting to another service locally, going to your GP or accessing some other groups on the Island.
Can anyone access WorkWell?
The service is available to anyone aged 18 and over. We will liaise with your workplace about how you can access the WorkWell Pathways and arrange a meeting with a practitioner.
What is the difference between WorkWell and therapy?
WorkWell:
- The WorkWell Pathways will help you learn skills to cope with how you feel today and ways you can cope in situations in the future.
- Although previous history may be touched upon in sessions, we will not go too deeply into any past experiences or trauma.
- WorkWell can provide different techniques and coping mechanisms to handle your current situation.
- The programme is suitable for mild to moderate mental health support.
- You will need to be motivated to complete the pathway and you will need to actively make changes and considerations to improve your mental health.
Therapy:
- Therapy gives more time to discuss and process past experience and the feelings/emotions linked to this.
- Therapeutic support is a long-term process to focus on deeper mental health
- Any level of mental health can have therapy.
Your practitioner will discuss the options with you at your initial assessment if they feel WorkWell is not for you at this time. They will do this by working with you to assess the severity of your issue and consider your goals and resources.
WorkWell involves working independently with different resources under the guidance of a practitioner whereas therapy is a collaborative process with a therapist to tackle severe mental health conditions.
